1. BLAC Internship – P&G Week Pitch Presentation for Crest Kids
– August 2023

For summer 2023, I had the wonderful opportunity to be an intern for the BLAC internship program. BLAC, or Building Leaders and Creators, is a program dedicated to bringing more Black talent into the advertising world. It is sponsored by Procter & Gamble. As part of the program, P&G Week is one week where interns – each split into different teams and assigned to three different P&G brands – spend time creating a concept and presenting a final pitch for a product from their assigned brand. My roles on my team were design and production. Since the project was only one week, we did not produce the content and only conceptualized it. Each member of my team also contributed to the strategy and research collecting for the project.

The brief called for three ideas for a: 15-second commercial for an upcoming Crest Kids product. After feedback from P&G reps, we moved forward with one final idea and worked on the final pitch. Our final pitch was refined and spectacular! Hopefully, it may be used in the future!

The Crest product is currently confidential and not public. If you'd like to learn more about the experience and the presentation, please contact me.

For an Intro to Strategic Writing and Design course, teams of four were assigned the same client, Cool Haus, a women-owned and LGBTQ-owned ice cream company. We were tasked with creating our own fictional agency (see above), doing preliminary research on ice cream consumers, and taking the creative brief to execute a creative rebrand for the company. My role was the art director. Most of my designs were not used in the final submission (see left), but I contributed to choosing brand colors, typography, and the look and feel for the website homepage design. My team earned an A- for the overall project.

VMLY&R Internship -
Jan. 2023

With my university, I traveled to NYC to work on a social-first campaign for one of VMLY&R's clients. The client was a major tech company. Each team had approximately 10 days to research, plan, create, execute, and present all deliverables to the client.  We took the creative brief and proceeded to deliver audience research and market research, conduct surveys, design layouts, source for influencers, shoot for social, and edit. Though fast-paced, my team's campaign pitch ended up winning! If you would like to hear more about the work/client, please contact me directly.

VMLY&R Pitch Laptop Sticker - Jan. 2023

During an internship in New York City with VMLY&R, I designed a vibrant laptop sticker for a pitch for one of the agency's clients. The sticker was meant to be youthful and representative of the targeted audience in the client's brief.

If you'd like to hear more about the client and my experience, please reach out to me directly as there are confidentiality issues.

Distracted Driving Statistics in Missouri Infographic - Feb. 2022

In my Audience and Persuasion course, my team had eight weeks to craft a campaign and a solution to distracted driving in Missouri. After doing extensive research, I designed the team's infographic defining nomophobia – or the fear of being disconnected from mobile phones.

"Living in Corona" Photo Illustration Project - Sept. 2020

A Photoshop assignment for an Intro to Visual Journalism course, I was inspired by the 90's Fox sitcom "Living Single" to create a promotional poster. The poster also brings awareness to the COVID-19 pandemic and the #SayHerName hashtag dedicated to remembering Black women who are murdered by police brutality.

Columbia, Mo. (2021) –– For an Integrated Journalism course, we were to produce an NPR-style audio profile story on a local company or brand. I highlighted Dr. Christine Woods, who then-recently opened Crowned Counseling, a private counseling practice. She is one of the very few Black mental health practitioners in mid-Missouri.

Columbia, Mo. (2023) –– I was a marketing team intern for a DEI advocacy office at my university for one year. The team produces a biweekly podcast titled CASE Underground, which features the untold and overlooked success stories of MU's underrepresented minority students. I served as a producer and editor.
